History

President Life Sciences Co., Ltd. (PLS) was established in March 2000 with a capital of USD 100 million. PLS is a subsidiary of Tainan Business Group, one of the most significant conglomerates in Taiwan. The Group's businesses include food manufacturing, franchises (7-11, Starbucks coffee, Carrefour and Cosmed...etc.), construction, technology, financial services and leisure industry.

In view of the increasing importance of biotechnology in all aspects of economics, the top management of Tainan Business Group found that it is necessary to establish a proprietary biotech business. As a result, PLS was established to serve as the mechanism for biotech investment and business development for the Group.

The mission of President Life Sciences is to establish and develop a truly significant global life science business for the Tainan Business Group, and to become the leading force in the Asian biotech industry.
